Description
East Venton is a farmhouse dated 1846, as indicated by a slate plaque on the front wall. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate hipped roof with deep eaves. The building has a two-room single depth plan with a central hall and rendered additions at the rear from around the late 19th century. It stands two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-bay façade. The windows are 16-pane sashes with glazing bars, set beneath slate lintels with incised voussoirs, and the central first-floor window features a keystone. The main entrance consists of a wide six-panel door, which is sheltered by a porch supported by thin wooden Tuscan columns and an entablature.
