Description
South Yeo Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1840-1850. It is constructed of stone rubble that has been stuccoed and features a slate roof with boxed eaves and brick stacks at each gable end. The building has a double depth plan with principal rooms on either side of a central entrance hall, which contains stairs on the right side and service rooms behind. The farmhouse is two storeys tall with an attic storey and has a symmetrical three-window range. It includes a plat-band, quoin pilasters, and pilasters that flank a central bay which slightly projects forward. Each floor has 16-paned sash windows, and there is a 12-paned sash window above a semi-circular headed doorway that features a four-panelled door with the upper panels glazed and a fanlight. Inside, much of the 19th-century joinery remains intact, including panelled internal window shutters.
