Description
Lower Farm House is a farmhouse that likely dates from the mid-19th century, although it may include some earlier elements. The building features rubble-stone walls, some of which are plastered, and has a slate roof with stone eaves courses and brick end stacks. It is two storeys high and has an L-shaped plan. A 20th-century glazed timber porch with a stone slate lean-to roof leads to a ledged door.
On the ground floor, there are two stone mullioned windows with hoodmoulds, each fitted with casements that have glazing bars. The first floor has three similar windows. At the rear, there is a slightly lower wing constructed in the same style.
The front boundary wall is made of rubble stone and has a flat coping. A higher rubble stone wall extends to the right, surrounding the farmyard and running east of the house.
