Description

Blagdon Farmhouse is a 1720s farmhouse located in North Tamerton. The building is constructed of rendered stone rubble and has a slate hipped roof. It follows a three-room plan and presents a symmetrical facade with four windows. The ground floor features 20th-century two-light casements and a doorway to the left of centre, with a 20th-century door and glazed porch. The first floor has 19th- and 20th-century two-light casements with glazing bars. Brick ridge stacks are located to the right of centre, while rendered stacks are situated at the left-hand (west) end. A slate plaque on the rear wall bears an incised foliage border and the inscription "Stanbury Fowler Gent and Elizabeth His Wife who were Possessors of this place and built this house in ye year of our Lord God 1720." Small, single-story additions have been made to the rear of the property. The interior remains uninspected.
