Description
Bodinnick is a farmhouse, now a private house, dating from the early 18th century, with possibly earlier origins. It is constructed from rendered and painted stone rubble and cob, topped with a steeply pitched rag slate roof that has hipped ends and a brick end stack on the right.
The building has a two-room and cross or through passage plan, heated by end stacks. A 20th-century extension has been added across the rear, likely on the site of earlier service rooms from the mid to late 18th century.
The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. The central entrance features a panelled door from the 19th century, accompanied by a rendered 20th-century lean-to porch with a slate roof. On the ground floor, there are wide 20th-century two-light casements, while the first floor has three 19th-century two-light casements with timber lintels and slate cills. A 20th-century garage has been added to the left-hand gable end.
The interior is not accessible, but an inspection may reveal several original features such as panelling and chimney-pieces.
