Description
This is a farmhouse, likely dating from the mid-18th century, with later additions and alterations extending into the late 19th century. The construction is of stone rubble with dressed granite quoins. It has a double-span slate roof with gable ends and brick end stacks.
The plan is a double-depth layout with a central entrance. The front of the house features two reception rooms, served by end stacks, and service rooms at the rear.
The symmetrical front elevation is punctuated by three windows. The central entrance has an early 19th-century partly glazed door set within a circa 19th-century open porch, which is roofed with flat timber and supported by two granite columns with moulded capitals. To either side are two canted bay windows dating from around the late 19th or early 20th century. The first floor contains three four-pane sash windows. Decorative 19th-century cast iron gutters run along the roofline, featuring lion masks at the joints.
The interior has not been inspected. The farmhouse remains part of an unaltered group of buildings on the north-east side of St Tudy village.
