Description
This large warehouse, occupied by Weldmobile, dates from the mid-19th century. It features rubble walls with brick jambs and segmental arches, topped by an asbestos slate hipped roof. The building has a large rectangular plan that runs parallel to the quay and stands two storeys high. It has a seven-window range, with loading doorways located in the fourth bay from the left and at the far right. There are two original windows on the left and the third from the left, which have vertical glazing bars and random panes; the rest of the windows are later or 20th century replacements. The ground floor includes an original narrow doorway towards the left, as well as wide doorways beneath the loading doorways. The central doorway has been widened to the right in the 20th century, and there are three blocked windows to the right of this doorway, along with a shuttered window on the far right. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to retain its original floor and roof structures.
