Description
The building is a warehouse, now known as the Quay Museum, dating from the mid-19th century with later alterations. It is constructed of slatestone rubble and features a half-hipped slate roof with ridge tiles. The warehouse is a large three-storey structure with loading facilities at the upper storeys on the right side, which faces the quay. It likely originally included a ground floor office at the right end.
The exterior is asymmetrical, with the ground floor containing three doors and five window openings, all featuring cambered heads. Some windows have shutters, and one on the right is a 20-pane sash window from the 19th century. Above each outer door, there are loading doors, with the right one blocked, and four central doors along with small single windows that also have shutters. The second floor has three gabled dormers, each with two-light casements.
On the left side, there is a lower two-storey addition that includes a door and window on the ground floor and a small upper loading door. The right end features a 20th-century window on the ground floor, while the first and second floors have tall loading doors. The rear mirrors the front's arrangement of doors and loading doors on the first floor, with three gabled dormers at the second floor, also with two-light casements. The ground floor on the left has a similar 20-pane sash window and door, and there is a single-storey lean-to along the rest of the rear, which includes double doors, a window, and a small single door. The interior has not been inspected.
