Description

CALSTOCK COTEHELE QUAY SX 4268-4368 9/92 The Lodge GV II Lodge, now house. Mid C19 with few later alterations. Slatestone rubble with granite dressings. Hipped slate roof with crested ridge tiles. Axial stack with 3 diagonal set brick shafts. Plan: 2-room plan, with each room heated by back-to-back fireplaces from the axial stack. Entrance through porch at the left end. Exterior: 2 storeys, asymmetrical front with 2 windows, all C20 replacements. Ground floor has 3-light and 2-light casement with flanking buttresses in rubble with cornice over. First floor has two 2-light casements each with small gable. The left side forms the entrance front, with 2-storey canted bay with gable, with a 2-light casement at first floor. Ground floor level is open and plastered internally, with plain granite columns supporting the upper storey. Round arched niche to right and left, central C20 door with cover strips and glazed panel. The right side has 2- light casement at first floor with small gable over. Single storey lean-to to right with door ; the house is built into the bank at the rear. Interior: Not inspected.
