Description

ST DOMINICK BOHETHERICK SX 46 NW 4/220 Bohetherick Lodge II Lodge, now private house. Dated 1882, with few later alterations. Slatestone rubble with granite dressings. Slate roof with crested ridge tiles and gable ends; axial stack with granite ashlar shaft and diagonally set chimneys. Plan: 2-room plan, with one room to front and one in short crosswing to rear, each heated from the axial stack. Entrance directly into the front room through the front porch. Gothic style. Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical one-window gabled front. Gabled porch with raised coped verges and kneelers, 4-centred arched chamfered granite outer doorway with granite shield over, inner plain door with cover strips, glazed panel and segmental head, datestone with hood mould above; first floor has similar chamfered granite C19 window with casement with raised granite cross above; the gable end has raised coped verges and kneelers. Bay to right has similar granite window with casement at ground floor. Right side has similar gabled bay to right, with canted bay at ground floor; first floor has similar granite casement with raised granite cross above. Bay to left has similar 2-light granite window with casement at ground floor. There is a small C20 single storey addition to the rear. Interior: Not inspected.
