Description

Bohetherick Lodge is a lodge, now a private house, dated 1882 with few later alterations. It is constructed of slatestone rubble with granite dressings and features a slate roof with crested ridge tiles and gable ends, as well as an axial stack with a granite ashlar shaft and diagonally set chimneys. The building has a two-room plan, with one room at the front and a short crosswing at the rear, both heated from the axial stack. The entrance leads directly into the front room through a front porch, and the lodge is designed in a Gothic style.

The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical one-window gabled front. The gabled porch has raised coped verges and kneelers, and features a four-centred arched chamfered granite outer doorway with a granite shield above. The inner door is plain with cover strips, a glazed panel, and a segmental head, with a datestone and hood mould above. The first floor has a similar chamfered granite 19th-century window with a casement and a raised granite cross above. The gable end has raised coped verges and kneelers.

To the right, there is a similar granite window with a casement at the ground floor, and a gabled bay with a canted bay at ground floor level. The first floor has another granite casement with a raised granite cross above. The left side features a similar two-light granite window with a casement at the ground floor. There is a small 20th-century single storey addition to the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
