Description
The Lodge is a building that was originally constructed as a lodge around 1870 and has since been converted into a house, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. It is built from rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings and features a decorative slate roof that has overhanging eaves and ornate bargeboards. The building is a single storey plus attic and has a single gable stack.
The main front of the Lodge has a central gabled wing that includes a large tripartite plain sash window set within a moulded ashlar surround, complete with a hoodmould. Above this window, in the gable, there is a small pointed arched panel that also has a hoodmould and a date. The gable is adorned with decorative bracing and a wooden finial. To the right of the main entrance, there is a lean-to porch or verandah featuring a stick balustrade and a partially glazed door. Above this porch, there is a decorative dormer window with two casement lights. The right gable of the building has a triple plain sash window in a moulded surround with a hoodmould, and above it, there is another small pointed arched panel with a hood and date. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
