Description
Treverbyn Lodge is a lodge that has been converted into a house, built in the late 19th century with few later alterations. It is constructed of coursed slatestone rubble with granite dressings and features slate roofs with ridge tiles and gable ends, along with lateral stacks. The building has a plan consisting of two parallel ranges, with the main room located in the front left, which is a projecting gabled wing. There is a porch at the center angle and a room to the right that has a front lateral stack. The rear range serves as a service area and includes an integral single-storey outshut along the entire back.
The lodge is designed in the Tudor Gothic style and stands two storeys tall with an asymmetrical front. The gabled wing on the left features a square bay at the ground floor, which has a 3-light mullion and transom window made of granite with a chamfered design. Above this is a 3-light casement window with a hoodmould. The gabled porch to the right has a 4-centred arched doorway with a hoodmould, a door with strap hinges, and a 2-light window above. There is an external weathered stack to the right. The left side of the building has an external stack that heats the front room, along with a 2-light casement window at both the ground and first floors on the left. On the right side, there are two gables from the front and rear ranges; the left gable has a 3-light mullion and transom window with a hoodmould at ground floor and a 3-light casement with a hoodmould at first floor. The hoodmoulds of the ground floor windows extend as a string course. At the rear, the single-storey outshut has 20th-century doors and windows, while the first floor has a stack to the left and two 20th-century windows to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
