Description
Annesley Lodge is a lodge that has been converted into a house, built in the mid to late 19th century. It features coursed and squared rubble and brick construction with plain tile roofs. The building has stone dressings, a chamfered plinth, quoins, chamfered and dentillated eaves, and coped gables with kneelers and finials. A large moulded central ridge stack is prominent on the roof.
The lodge is two storeys high and consists of two bays with a double depth plan. The windows are cross mullioned casements with splayed reveals. The southwest front has a projecting gable to the left, which includes a canted hipped bay window with a moulded cornice and hood mould. Above this bay window is a cross casement. To the right, there is a set-back gabled porch featuring a four-centred arched door and a coped gable with a finial. Behind the porch is a canted stair turret that has two stages, with an octagonal upper stage topped by an octagonal pyramid roof.
On the northwest side, there is a canted bay window, and to the right, a casement window. The northeast end has a flat-roofed single-storey addition from the 19th century on the left, with a casement window to the right and two casements above. The southeast side has two casements, with a 20th-century casement to the right. The roof structure consists of softwood principal rafters with collars.
