Description
West Lodge is a lodge built around 1868, constructed from coursed squared rubble and brick, topped with a hipped and canted plain tile roof. It features ashlar dressings and a stone plinth, along with two diagonally set ridge stacks. The entrance is located at the rear. The building is a single storey plus attics and has a cross plan with three bays. The front includes a projecting canted bay with three glazing bar casements, a 20th-century three-light casement in a recessed bay to the left, and another glazing bar casement to the right. The left end has a single glazing bar casement, while the right end has a single glazing bar casement at the rear and a flat-roofed dormer above with a margin light casement. Surrounding the lodge is a dwarf ashlar boundary wall with chamfered coping that supports fleur de lys iron railings. There are also a pair of chamfered square cast iron gateposts with square caps and ball finials, along with a pair of wrought iron gates.
