Description
The terrace wall, boundary wall, gate piers, and gate at Osberton Hall date from the late 19th century. The terrace wall to the north of the hall is constructed of ashlar stone and features moulded coping, a projecting central bay, and recessed rounded corners, along with an interlaced pierced balustrade. The dwarf boundary wall is made of coursed squared rubble and incorporates a re-used 19th-century balustrade, square piers, turned balusters, and moulded coping. A curved section to the south includes two square piers topped with ashlar caps and coping. The pair of re-sited square ashlar gate piers have rebated corners and banded rustication, with a top band featuring an escallop on each face, a moulded cornice, and an urn on a square base above. Additionally, there are a pair of cast iron round tapered gate posts that support double wrought iron gates with scrolls, made by Thomlinson-Walker Ironworks in York. This structure is included for its group value only.
