Description
The stables at Osberton Hall, built in 1806 by W. Lindley for F. F. Foljambe, are a stable block constructed of ashlar stone with graduated hipped slate roofs and ashlar dressings. The building features a plinth, a lintel band, two ridge stacks, and is two storeys high with nine unequal bays. The main range faces a square courtyard and is accompanied by three single-storey ranges and two two-storey corner stores, both topped with pyramidal roofs.
The central projecting gabled bay includes a semi-circular arched carriage entrance with spearhead iron gates. To the left of the entrance, there are four round-headed recessed panels containing three glazing bar sashes and a single door with an overlight. To the right, there are four similar panels with 20th-century stable doors. Above these, there are eight glazing bar sashes, and further up, a central clock tower with a chamfered plinth, moulded eaves, and clock faces on the east and west sides. At the very top, there is an octagonal timber bell turret with dentillated eaves and an ogee domed cap topped with a wind vane.
The stable yard features eight bays with stable doors alternating with glazing bar sashes, and on the east side, there is a seven-bay open arcade.
