Description

Woodlands is a farmhouse located in St Dominick, likely built in the late 18th century to early 19th century, with some alterations and additions made in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of painted stone rubble and features a hipped slate roof with ridge tiles and brick chimney stacks on the sides. It has rear wings with gable ends, including a gable end stack on the right wing.

The farmhouse has a two-room plan, with a central entrance accessed through a porch. The principal rooms are located on the front right and left, each heated by a side stack. At the rear, there are one-room plan wings on both sides; the left wing is unheated, while the right wing is heated by a gable end stack. These wings create a rear yard and may have been added in the late 19th century, along with the porch.

The exterior of the building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front. On the ground and first floors, there are paired six-pane sash windows from the late 18th century, featuring pointed arched lights and Gothic glazing bars, with the first-floor windows being smaller. The central window on the first floor is a single similar sash. The central porch, likely a late 19th-century addition, is gabled and glazed, with margin glazing and half-glazed margin doors on each side, along with a similar inner door. To the right of the porch, there is a small single-storey lean-to with a similar Gothic sash window. The right side of the building has a two-light casement window in the lean-to.

At the rear, the wing is two storeys tall, featuring a half-glazed door and a 12-pane sash window on both the ground and first floors to the right, along with a gable end stack. The left side of the wing has a blind end wall, and the rear wing has a 12-pane sash window on both floors. There is also a single-storey lean-to at the rear of the wing. The interior has not been inspected.
