Description

A pair of houses, dating from around the mid-19th century, situated on Madron Bellair Road, Madron. The houses are constructed of dressed coursed granite and feature a scantle slate roof with brick chimneys at the gable ends. They were originally designed with a double-depth plan and a symmetrical layout. Each house boasts a single-room width, with entrance lobbies and stairs joining at the centre.

The south-east front presents a symmetrical façade of three windows. A pair of doorways are centrally located, above which is a blind window opening. Number 5 has a 20th-century door and retains its original 12-pane hornless sash windows. Number 6 has a 20th-century door and windows dating from the late 19th or 20th century, which are 4-pane and have horns. The interiors of the properties were not inspected.

A shallow garden lies at the front. Number 5 is set behind an original coped granite ashlar wall, while Number 6 is shielded by a later rock-faced granite wall. The entrance is marked by granite gate piers.
