Description

A pair of houses dating from the mid-19th century, located on Hatherleigh Park Road. They are constructed of plastered stone with a gable ended slate roof and two brick stacks, one at the right gable end and one axial. Number 21, on the left, has a symmetrical two-room plan with a central entrance. Number 23 is a double-depth house with two parallel ranges, one room wide, and an entrance at the left end. The front of Number 21 is symmetrical with a three-window facade of original sixteen-pane sash windows. A later 19th-century tall canted bay has been added at the centre of the ground floor, featuring a part-glazed door on its right-hand side. Number 23 has an asymmetrical two-window front with original sash windows – sixteen panes to the right and twelve panes to the left, above a doorway. The doorway has a contemporary six-panel door and a rectangular fanlight; a later doorhood sits above. The interior has not been inspected. The buildings are of group value.
