FEOCK Devoran ST JOHNS TERRACE Nos 16 and 17 and garden wall to south and west

GV II

Pair of houses and front garden wall. Mid C19. Killas with granite quoins, jambstones and lintels. Hipped roof with wide eaves and bricks chimneys over side walls and over party wall. No 16 has asbestos slate roof but No 17 (south east) has original grouted scantle slate roof.

Each house has two-room plan with central entrance hall and linked outshuts to rear containing service rooms.

Two storeys. South west fronts. Each house has symmetrical three-window front with central doorway. C20 doors. Early-mid C20 glazed conservatories. No 16, has horned 12-paned sashes and No 17 has horned two-pane sashes.

Interior not inspected.

Low granite coped rubble wall to front with granite monolith piers.

This is one of a row of similar contemporary houses in St Johns Terrace which form an impressive group in spite of later alterations to some of the houses.
