Description

22 St John's Terrace is a house built around the 1840s, located in Devoran. It features a construction of Killas rubble with granite quoins and jambstones, topped by a hipped asbestos slate roof with wide eaves and brick chimneys on the side walls. The house has a two-room central stair plan with service rooms in an integral rear outshut.

The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front facing south, with a central round-headed door. The door is a top-glazed six-panel design with a fanlight above. The ground floor windows are canted bays from around 1900, fitted with horned sashes, while the first floor has two-paned sash windows. Lead flashing is present under the slate sills.

The front of the property is bordered by a low granite coped garden wall. This house is part of a row of similar contemporary houses in St John's Terrace, which together create an impressive group despite some later alterations to individual houses.
