Description

30 St John's Terrace is a house built around the 1840s, located in Devoran. The structure is made of Killas rubble with granite quoins, jambstones, and lintels, topped with a hipped asbestos slate roof and brick chimneys on the side walls.

The house features a double depth plan with a central entrance hall that leads to a staircase, flanked by principal front rooms. It is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window south front and a small single-storey extension to the left. The central doorway has a six-panel door and an intricately designed wooden porch with lattice work. The windows are two-paned horned sashes with thick slate sills and lead flashings.

The front is bordered by a low coped granite rubble wall. This house is part of a row of similar contemporary houses in St John's Terrace, which together create an impressive group despite some later alterations to individual houses. The interior has not been inspected.
