Description
Glebe Cottage is a house from the early 19th century, built of killas rubble with some granite bonders. It features dressed granite quoins, sills, jambstones, and lintels that are incised to resemble voussoirs. The dry Delabole slate roof was renewed around 1980 and has brick chimneys at the gable ends. The layout consists of two equal front rooms on either side of a central passage leading to a central stair, with a narrower service room located under a single-storey lean-to behind the left-hand room. The cottage is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front facing north. The central doorway has a four-panel door, and there is an original 16-pane hornless sash window above the door, along with original 20-pane hornless sashes on the ground and first floors to the right, all featuring much original crown glass. The windows to the left of the doorway are 20-pane horned replacement sashes. The interior was not inspected as the property was unoccupied at the time of the survey in 1985.
