Description

The headstone located about 18 meters south of the west end of the Church of Saint Wenappa in Gwennap is a Grade II listed structure. This 18th-century headstone marks the grave of the Barrat family. It is made of slate and features a monolith slab with a canted head. The east side of the headstone is inscribed with incised lettering that commemorates John Barrat, who died in 1766 at the age of 55, his wife Hanna, who passed away in 1788 at the age of 61, and their daughter Ann, who died on November 12, 1761, at the age of 1 year and 8 months.
