Description

The limekiln, located at SX 444686, is an early 19th-century structure made of slatestone rubble. It has a rectangular plan, measuring approximately 15 metres in length, and is built into the bank to allow for top loading from the rear. Positioned on the bank of the River Tamar, it was designed for water transport. The front features two round arches, constructed with stone voussoirs and granite keystones, topped by a granite string course. The interior is not accessible.
