Description
This is an early 19th-century limekiln located in Calstock, constructed from slatestone rubble. The kiln has a rectangular plan measuring approximately 10 metres by 5 metres and is built into the bank at the rear for top loading. It is situated close to the bank of the River Tamar, allowing for water transport. The kiln features a single round arch on the left, with stone dressings leading to a vault, and a stoke-hole located at the rear. A string course runs above the arch and continues around the sides, with rubble coping on the parapet.
