Description

The lime kiln, dating from the early 19th century, was raised in height around 1860 when an incline plane was constructed over it. It is made of slatestone rubble and has a rectangular plan with two wells and one arch at the front. The kiln is notably tall, standing at about 14 metres. It features a round arch with stone dressings at the front and is built into the bank for top loading. The structure is covered in considerable ivy.
