Description
The lime kiln, located at SX 9132 6662, is a structure likely built in the early 19th century and was in use within the last 40 years. It is constructed from local grey limestone rubble. The exterior features battered walls, with one opening visible on the right side at the upper level and a segmental-headed opening to the kiln on the front. Inside, the rear wall of the kiln has a small blocked opening with granite jambs. The kiln is situated on the edge of a former limestone quarry.
