Description
The barn, located approximately 50 metres north-west of Tresidder Farmhouse, is likely a granary built over a cartshed and stables. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and incorporates some dressed masonry from a 17th-century building. The structure is made of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a grouted scantle slate half-hipped roof. There is a scantle slate roofed lean-to at the back of the left side and a corrugated asbestos roof over the lean-to at the back of the right side.
The barn has an overall U-shaped plan, with central first-floor loading and winnowing doorways accessed by a ramp to the rear doorway, flanked by two single-storey lean-tos. The exterior is two storeys high, with a fairly regular two-window south-west front. This front features a wide central waggon doorway, which is partly blocked, and a loading doorway above it. There are additional doorways to the left and right of the waggon doorway, with a partly blocked doorway at the far left and a window on the right. Two small windows are located above the right-hand openings, and there is a smaller first-floor window towards the left. The original openings are also present on the other elevations. The interior has not been inspected.
