Description

The barn and horse engine house at Knighton Farm, dating from the early to mid 19th century, is constructed of stone rubble with granite dressings and features a slate roof with gable ends and a canted end for the horse engine house at the rear. The building has a rectangular plan, with the barn extended on the right side in the mid 19th century.

The exterior is two storeys high, with an asymmetrical front elevation facing the yard. It includes wide doors near the center, flanked by two small windows, and an additional window to the left. The first floor has wide threshing doors. The right side extends with a two-storey range that has dressed granite quoins and a plank door on the ground floor. The ground rises gently to the rear, where the horse engine house is located at the rear left. The machinery in the engine house has been removed.
