Description

NORTH HILL SX 27 NE 4/90 Barns and horse engine house on north side of yard at Lynher Farm GV II Range of barns with horse engine house to rear. 1838 (datestone) probably extended on left in circa mid C19. Stone rubble with granite dressings. Slate roof with hipped ends and canted end to horse engine house on rear. Plan: Range of shippons and stables with loft and threshing floor on first floor. Horse engine house to rear right. Exterior: Two storeys. Asymmetrical front elevation facing yard. The possible earlier range on right has 6 shippon doors and feeding doors on ground floor. The granite lintels above the openings have been continued to form a granite string band. Two double doors and single door to threshing floor above, the two openings to right with slate hipped hood and the left hand opening with a corrugated asbestos hood. Datestone 1838. Row of pigeon holes below eaves. Extension to left of 2 storeys with two door openings on ground floor and reset 3-light mullion window on first floor. To rear of right hand barn a horse engine house with canted end. Interior: Not inspected.
