Description

Lynher Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1854, as indicated by the datestone, for SBM. The building was reconstructed after a fire in the early 1980s. It is constructed of stone rubble with granite quoins and has an asbestos slate roof with gable ends. The farmhouse features tall rendered end stacks with set-offs. The layout consists of a front range with a two-room and cross passage plan, along with a service wing at the rear left. There is also a late 19th century or 20th century wing of one-room plan to the rear right.

In terms of architectural style, Lynher Farmhouse is designed in the Tudor Gothic style. The exterior is two storeys high, with a cellar located beneath the left-hand service wing. The central gabled porch from the 19th century has granite quoins and coping on the gable. It features a four-centred arch with a hood mould and a 19th century six-panel door beneath a chamfered granite lintel. The gable end displays the datestone SBM from 1854. The façade is flanked by two pairs of 19th century mullion and transom windows with granite frames. On the first floor, there are two double two-light casements on either side of a central three-light casement. The entrance to the cellar is located on the left side of the rear wing, marked by a segmental arched opening. The gabled porch is positioned near the gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
