Description
Uphill Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with granite quoins and features a rag slate roof with gable ends that extends over an outshut at the rear. The building has large projecting stone rubble end stacks, with an additional end stack located at the rear left. The layout is probably a double depth plan, with the main rooms at the front heated by the end stacks and narrow service rooms at the rear. The kitchen is located at the rear left and is also heated by an end stack, while a parlour is likely situated on the right.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has an almost symmetrical three-window front. Although the windows were replaced in the 20th century, the openings remain unchanged and feature dressed stone arches with slate strings above. There is a 20th-century porch flanked by two 20th-century windows, with three more 20th-century windows on the first floor. The rear elevation has not been inspected, and the interior is not accessible.
