Description

Landreyne Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with granite quoins and has a slate roof with gable ends, featuring a half-hipped end on the left side. The building has brick shafts for both end and axial stacks.

The main layout of the farmhouse is a double depth plan with a central entrance that leads into a wide passage. There are two principal rooms at the front, heated by end stacks, with a staircase located at the rear of the passage and narrow service rooms behind the main rooms. Slightly set back on the left is a two-room plan wing, which is either contemporary with or slightly later than the main house. Additionally, there is a small extension at the rear of the main range, dating from the 19th or 20th century.

The exterior of the farmhouse is two storeys high and features an almost symmetrical front with a 1:3 window arrangement. The main range has a central 19th-century door with 20th-century glazing, set within a 19th-century slate porch that has a hipped slate roof. On either side of the door are two 19th-century three-light casements with dressed stone arches and dressed strings above. The first floor has two 19th-century three-light casements flanking a central two-light casement, all featuring dressed stone arches. The two-storey wing on the left side has 19th-century three-light casements on both the ground and first floors, with similar detailing and dressed stone as seen on the main range. A granite mounting block is located at the right end of the house. The rear of the building retains its 19th-century two and three-light casements with dressed stone arches, and there is a small late 19th-century extension that has been remodelled and extended in the 20th century.

Inside, there is a wide cross passage with a 19th-century staircase leading to the rear, although the interior has not been fully inspected.
