Description
West Tremollett Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, possibly with earlier origins. It is constructed of stone rubble with granite quoins and features a slate-hung front elevation with rag slates. The roof is slate with gable ends and has brick end stacks. The building has a double depth plan with a central entrance. The front has two main rooms heated by end stacks, with narrow service rooms at the rear and a staircase flanking a cross passage.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front with granite surrounds. The central entrance features a 19th-century panelled door within a 19th-century slate porch that has a hipped end. On either side of the door are two 20th-century three-light casement windows. The first floor contains three replacement casements, with two three-light windows flanking a central two-light window. The rear elevation includes complete 19th-century casements with original glass; the left side has a two-light granite mullion window, while the other windows have granite surrounds. At the right end of the building is a cartshed with a loft above that has been integrated into the house. The granite uprights of the cartshed have been infilled with stone rubble, and the first floor is slate hung. The interior has not been inspected.
