Description
The Methodist Church is a chapel likely built in the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with granite dressings and features some slate hanging. The roof is slate with gable ends. The building has an overall rectangular plan that includes a nave and chancel, with a stair turret on the liturgical northwest side providing access to a first-floor gallery.
The exterior faces the road at the liturgical west end, which is slightly recessed and features granite coping and corner buttresses. There are two pairs of lancet windows with diagonal glazing bars and a large central rose window that retains its original glazing. The liturgical north elevation includes two tall, 2-centred arched openings with glazing bars and small panes, as well as intersecting bars at the top. The stair tower and entrance are located on the right-hand side. The south elevation is slate hung and has original glazing in three tall 2-centred arched windows. There is a small extension from the late 19th or 20th century on the liturgical east end. The chapel is complete and of good quality, although the interior was not accessible for inspection.
