Description
Lynher Farm features a range of farm buildings, including a barn and cart shed, likely built in the early to mid 19th century using some earlier materials. The structures are made of stone rubble with granite dressings and have a rag slate roof with hipped ends. The overall layout is 'L' shaped, with shippons and stables on the ground floor and a loft above, along with a cartshed in the front right wing.
The exterior has two storeys and an asymmetrical front elevation facing the yard. The south range includes a reset probable 16th-century two-centred chamfered Polyphant stone arch on the left, with shippon doors and a feeding door to the right. The first floor features a granite surround for a three-light mullion window, although the mullions have been removed, and there is a loft opening to the right. The west range, which returns to the front right, has shippon doors on the left and a wide opening that forms a two-storey open-fronted vehicle shed on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
