Description
Trewrickle Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1840, with few later alterations. It is constructed of sandstone rubble, with the front faced in slatestone ashlar and limestone long and short quoins at the rear. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, featuring deep eaves and stacks on the sides. The building has a rectangular double depth plan, with a central entrance and principal rooms located to the front right and left. A staircase is positioned at the rear left, and there are service rooms at the back, along with a two-storey integral service wing to the rear right.
The front of the farmhouse is symmetrical, standing two storeys high on a plinth and featuring three windows, all of which are 12-pane sashes with cambered heads and keystones. The central entrance has a half-glazed door with a cambered head and is adorned with a cornice on consoles. Pilasters on either side support an eaves band course. The left side of the building has a 20th-century window at ground floor to the left.
At the rear, there is a two-storey wing with a hipped roof to the left, which includes 20th-century windows at both the ground and first floors, featuring cambered heads with voussoirs and keystones. There is also a contemporary narrow two-storey block at the angle of the main range, with a pitched roof and a narrow single light with a keystone at the first floor. A 20th-century single-storey addition is located in the angle, complete with a door. To the right, there are 20th-century windows at both the ground and first floors, featuring cambered heads, voussoirs, and keystones, along with a similar narrow light at the first floor to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
