Description
Virginia Cottage is a pair of attached houses, now functioning as a single residence, dating from the mid to late 18th century with some 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of rendered stone rubble and features a slate roof with gabled ends and gable end stacks topped with cap stones.
The cottages have adjoining central entrances, each designed with a one-room plan, and the rooms are heated by gable end stacks. The structure is two stories high and has two windows. On the upper floor, there are two small two-light casements with slate sills positioned under the eaves, likely from the 19th century. The ground floor includes two two-light casements on the left and right, along with a central porch that has a pitched roof and two half-glazed doors separated by a wooden partition. Notably, the left side of the building features a roof slope that is higher at the front.
The right side has an external stack and a small single-storey addition from the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected.
