Description

North Lodge and the gate piers at the front are located at the north entrance to Trebartha, dating from the mid to late 19th century. The structure is built of stone rubble and features a steeply pitched slate roof adorned with crested ridge tiles and pierced wavy barge boards. A central axial stack of stone rubble is topped with three diagonally set chimney pots.

The lodge has an irregular 'T' shaped plan with entrances through 19th-century porches on both the left and right sides, showcasing Gothic style elements. It is a single-storey building with irregular single window elevations and steeply pitched gable ends at the front and sides. Each gable is decorated with ornate pierced wavy barge boards and features centrally placed canted bay windows. The porches on either side have steeply pitched gables with chamfered 2-centred arches and decorative pierced bargeboards.

The gate piers at the front were originally part of the drive to Trebartha Hall. These piers are made of ashlar stone and have moulded triangular granite caps of an unusual design, which are similar to those found in other estate buildings in Trebartha Village.
