LEWANNICK SX 27 NE 4/12 Range of shippons or pigshouses on east side of yard, open-fronted stalls on south side and wall on west side of yard at Knighton Farm GV II Row of shippons or pigshouses and open fronted stalls and cart shed with wall enclosing front of yard. Circa mid C19. Snecked stone with dressed granite lintels and quoins. Rag slate roofs with gable ends. Plan: On east side of yard a row of shippons or pigshouses with shallow cross wing to right of centre. Returning on front right (south) a row of open-fronted stalls; 5 bays and two further bays to right which are enclosed on front. On the west side of the yard is a wall extending from the gable end of the open fronted stalls to that of the barn on the north (qv). Exterior: Row of shippons or pigshouses; single storey asymmetrical front with higher gabled cross wing to right of centre. The cross wing has single plank door with two plank doors to right and two to left. Further to left double feeding doors and single door to far left. Rear elevation with ventilation slits and plank doors to rear of cross wing. On front right a 7-bay row of stalls and cart shed. 5-open bays to left with unmoulded granite piers. To right two openings with double doors. Enclosing front of yard a stone rubble wall with quartz coping. Main entrance to yard on left. The yard is unaltered and unspoilt and is unusual with a tree growing within the yard. Interior not inspected.
