Description

The shippons and stables on the west side of the yard at Trebartha Barton are a range of farm buildings, likely built in the mid-19th century. Constructed from stone rubble, the building features slate hanging above the ground floor on the front left and has a slate roof with hipped ends. The overall plan is rectangular, with stables and shippons on the ground floor and a loft above. There is a lean-to outshut from the 19th century across the rear.

The building is two storeys high, with an asymmetrical front that is partly slate hung, using rag slates above the ground floor on the left side. The left part appears to have been altered and may have originally been an open-fronted linhay. The ground floor has openings with granite jambs, including two plank doors on the first floor. On the right side, there are two doors on the ground floor flanked by window openings, and two window openings on the first floor also flanked by ventilation slits. Additionally, there are two rows of pigeon holes below the eaves. The rear is partly slate hung, with 19th-century casements. The interior has not been inspected.
