Description
The barn located immediately to the south of Hedge Barton farmhouse dates from the mid-19th century. It features granite rubble walls with dressed granite quoins and voussoir arches above the doorways. The roof is slate and hipped at both ends. Originally designed with shippons on the ground floor and loft-storage above, the shippons have now been converted into a milking parlour. The ground floor has nine regularly spaced doorways, which have been turned into windows except for the far right door. There is a ventilation slit between each opening, except for the far right. On the first floor, there is a wide loading door to the left of the centre, flanked by three rows of pigeon-holes. There are also blocked doorways, now functioning as windows, to the right and left, each with a ventilation slit on the far side.
