Description
The retaining wall located directly southeast of Hedge Barton farmhouse is a high granite rubble structure built against a hillside, forming the fourth side of the courtyard behind the farmhouse. It was likely constructed in the mid-19th century. The wall features a central set of double stone steps that lead to the top. To the left, the wall ramps up to the level of the eaves of the adjoining barn and is finished with rounded coping stones. This wall is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
