Description
High Park Lodge is a lodge built around the mid to late 19th century, with extensions added in the mid and late 20th century. It is constructed from snecked local stone with yellow brick dressings and features a slate roof with gable ends. The building has pierced decorated bargeboards with pendant finials and a rendered axial brick stack.
The lodge has an overall 'T' shaped plan, which was extended to the rear in the 20th century. Originally, the entrance was through a 19th-century porch that led directly into the left-hand room. The exterior is single storey with an asymmetrical front elevation, featuring a gable end of a cross wing to the right and a gabled porch to the left. The porch has a partly blocked door opening, which has been converted into a window with a rounded brick arch. The gable is decorated with ornate pierced bargeboards. To the right, an entrance has been added in the window openings, featuring a 20th-century door with a brick surround and a hoodmould above. The interior has not been inspected.
