Description
Trevadlock Farmhouse and the attached cartshed date from the late 18th century. The farmhouse is constructed of stone rubble with ashlar stone on the front elevation and slate hung on the left side. It features a slate roof with gable ends, slate hung stone rubble end stacks, and a stone rubble rear lateral stack. The building has a double depth plan with an entrance near the center, likely leading into a cross passage with a stair to the rear. The principal rooms at the front are heated by end stacks, with a dairy to the rear right and a kitchen to the rear left heated by the rear lateral stack. There is a 20th-century outshut extension at the rear.
The attached cartshed, built in the early 19th century, is located on the right end of the farmhouse, with the right bay converted into a garage in the 20th century. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has an almost symmetrical three-window front, with the openings slightly to the right. The ground floor features dressed stone arches over the openings, with all windows having granite cills. The ground floor includes a 19th-century panelled door with a slate hood, flanked by two late 19th-century or early 20th-century two-light casements. The first floor has two 19th-century three-light casements flanking a similar 19th-century two-light casement. The attached cartshed is single storey, open fronted, made of stone rubble with a slate roof and gable ends, supported by granite piers, and has 20th-century garage doors on the right bay. The interior has not been inspected.
