Description

Number 117 is a house located on Ashley Road in Montpelier, Bristol, dated 1825. The building is rendered with limestone dressings and features four brick lateral stacks and a slate hip roof. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with a basement, presenting a two-window range. The façade includes pilasters with incised fret moulding, a first-floor plat band, and deep boxed eaves. A semicircular-arched doorway is located on the right return, topped with an open pediment supported by small consoles. The door is a six-panel design with a 20th-century fanlight above it, and the windows are large plate-glass sashes. The interior has not been inspected. Attached to the house is a garden wall made of Pennant stone, featuring ashlar piers. The right pair of piers has a fluted entablature and large cap, while the left pair is topped with ball finials. Both piers have overthrow arches.
