Description

Numbers 119 and 121 are a pair of attached houses built around 1820, located on Ashley Road in Montpelier, Bristol. They are designed in a late Georgian style and constructed from limestone ashlar with a pantile roof. The houses have a double-depth plan and rise three storeys with a basement, featuring two-storey flanking blocks that are set back. The facade includes a six-window range with entrance porches on the sides, a deep cornice, and a parapet that has open balustraded sections along with a moulded panel.

There are seven steps leading up to an area in front of the doorways, which are enclosed by spear railings. The doorways themselves have moulded round arches, keys, and imposts, along with six-panel doors topped by a moulded panel. The central ground-floor windows are tripartite with panelled lintels and a floating cornice, while the windows above and to the sides feature cornices supported by acanthus consoles. The remaining windows have moulded architraves and are fitted with 6/6-pane sashes.

The property also includes subsidiary features such as an attached garden wall made of Lias and Pennant rubble, ashlar piers, and cast-iron spear railings and gates. The interior has not been inspected.
