Description

The Prince of Wales Public House is a mid-19th century building situated on Ashley Road in Bristol. It is a double-depth public house with a two-storey, two-window facade. The exterior is rendered with a glazed tile ground floor. The ground floor serves as a public house front, featuring pilaster strips leading to a cornice and parapet with balustrade sections above the windows. A doorway is located on the left, while the public house front on the right has central double doors and paired windows with shallow arched heads. These windows are framed with a dark green glazed surround, accentuated by consoles supporting a fascia and brown moulded panels beneath. The first floor features 8/8-pane sash windows in flush frames, with a central blind window topped by a pediment. The interior includes a lateral serving bar and a small front room with a painted timber bar-back fitting. The building represents a complete example of a mid-19th century public house facade.
