Description

Numbers 131 and 133 are a pair of attached houses that form part of a terrace built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and feature party wall stacks, topped with a pantile hipped roof. A Pennant stone garden wall is also present. The houses are designed in a late Georgian style and each has three storeys with a two-window range. The ground floor is rusticated and leads up to a moulded band, with a first-floor sill band, cornice, and parapet above.

Number 133 features a right-hand semicircular-arched doorway with a plate-glass fanlight and a six-panel door, along with a mid-19th century tripartite ground-floor window that includes a central French window. Number 131 has its entrance on the right return, also semicircular-arched, with a Gibbs surround, pilaster jambs, and a fluted transom, topped with a good fanlight. Above this, there is a round-arched stair light with a nine-over-nine pane sash window.

Inside, the entrance hall boasts a panelled plaster ceiling and leads to a curved, open-well stair with wreathed handrails. The front rooms feature plaster cornices with soffits decorated with trailing vines, along with panelled shutters and fireplaces. Additionally, there is an attached rubble garden wall with ashlar piers.
